180 Christmas babies born in Malawi, one of them named ‘Trump’

Lilongwe — At least 180 babies were born nationwide on Christmas day in Malawi, Nyasa Times reports, adding that one of the babies who were born in Karonga district was named “Trump”.

Another baby born in the southern region was named “Christmas”. According to the country’s health ministry spokesperson Adrian Chikumbe, one of the main referral hospitals in Blantyre recorded 26 babies.

He said that they were 13 boys and 13 girls.

Chikumbe said that the capital Lilongwe recorded 12 births, while in the north of the country they were 63 births recorded, including a set of twins.
News24 reported on Monday that at least 214 babies — 93 girls and 121 boys were born in Gauteng on Christmas day.

“There can be nothing as fulfilling than bringing a new life on this earth. We wish them a long and healthy life and remember to take good care of your babies and ensure that they receive the necessary immunisation available for free at all public health facilities to prevent ailments affecting mostly children,”Gauteng Health MEC Qedani Mahlangu was said.
