THIRTY women football coaches will attend a five day Fifa sponsored coaching course at the Zifa Village in Harare next week. The course, set to be conducted by Jacqueline Shipanga from Namibia, will run from May 11-15 with the Sport and Recreation Commission’s director general Charles Nhemachena expected to officially open the course on May 12.

The course is part of Fifa’s bid to elevate women football standards at a global level.

Coaches in possession of Level Four (4) or better among the targeted group of former national team players, practising coaches and teachers are set to benefit from the expertise to be imparted.

Zifa spokesperson Xolisani Gwesela, in a posting on the association’s official website, said the course would play an invaluable role towards developing women’s football

“We’re obviously elated by this initiative from the world football governing body. The course will undoubtedly play a pivotal role in the development of women’s football, we’re grateful to Fifa for funding this essential course,” he said
