The extended family members died on the spot on their way to Shurugwi to collect a new born baby and the nursing mother.

The accident occurred at about 10.30PM on Friday when the Toyota Granvia collided with a haulage truck at Tree Top Shopping Centre on the outskirts of Gweru.

“The two were buried at around 12 mid-day in Nyahuna Village in Shurugwi with scores of villagers and school authorities in attendance,” said Ncube.

Kwanele Moyo, aunt to Tsungirirai, said she travelled together with the late girl’s mother from South Africa after learning of the sudden death.

“We arrived in Bulawayo on Sunday evening, it is really hard to believe Tsungi is gone at such a tender age,” said Moyo.
