SEVEN Bulawayo women allegedly bashed a local model and left her wearing only her panties after accusing her of dating their husbands, a court heard yesterday.

Four of the women appeared in court yesterday, while the other three are on the run.

Robin Wa-shay Wanett of Barham Green, Kirby Kimberly Francis of Famona as well as Stacey Leign and Milnier both of Ilanda allegedly ganged up and assaulted Anita Nawn, 28, of Heopy Halo who was participating in a modelling function which was held at Barham Green clubhouse.

The function took place about 10 days ago.

The gang allegedly dragged Nawn from the hall and shoved her into a corner where they assaulted her with fists and forced her to remove all her clothes leaving her with only her panties.

Nawn suffered a small cut on the head and was treated at United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH).

The four were not asked to plead when they appeared before magistrate Marylene Mtshina.

They were remanded out of custody on $50 bail each to June 8 for trial.

The state led by Denmore Kasenza said on May 24 at around 2300HRS, Nawn was participating at a modelling show at Barham Green club house.

“The accused persons unlawfully and with intent to cause other bodily harm assaulted Anita Nawn. They pulled the complainant out of the dance hall and started assaulting the complainant together with fists. The complainant made a report at ZRP Donnington,” said Kasenza.

He said the model was stripped and she was left with only her panties.

The prosecutor said Nawn was treated at UBH after she sustained a small cut on her head.

The court was told that Nawn did not know the other three women who ganged up with the four who were arrested.
