He was among the victims of the accident that occurred when a South African-registered Toyota Hilux collided with a haulage truck along the Bulawayo-Beitbridge highway.

In an interview, Harmony Sounds manager Mandlenkosi Moyo said the news came as a shock and the group had been robbed of a dedicated bassist.
“The tragedy came as a shock to all of us particularly as members of the Harmony Sounds group.

“Gatsheni, as he was affectionately known, was a dedicated bassist and we were quite disturbed by the news,” Moyo said.
Moyo also said Harmony Sounds was made up of 16 members and Gatsheni’s death left a void.

Innocent Ndlovu, brother to the late bassist, described Gatsheni as a brother who was always there for his family.
“Nkosilathi was amazing as he used to make time for his family particularly in times of trials and tribulations.
“He loved singing a lot and last year he released a 15-track gospel album from which the title track Qina Mzalwane was his favourite,” he said.
