DYNAMOS’ midfield hardman, Stephen Alimenda, will miss the trip to Hwange tomorrow after he was slapped with a three match ban and fined $2,500 for his behaviour during the Glamour Boys’ home tie against Tsholotsho in May.

The hard tackling midfielder was found guilty of contravening Order 31 of the Premier Soccer League Rules and Regulations for his violent and abusive conduct towards Tsholotsho Pirates medic Sibusisiwe Mthunzi.

Alimenda was accused of abusing Mthunzi as she walked past the DeMbare bench after attending to an injured player.

He pleaded not guilty but the Disciplinary Committee, led by Vusi Vuma, found him on the wrong side of the regulations because of the overwhelming evidence they had at their disposal.

“The accused is hereby ordered to pay a fine of $2,500, $500 of which is suspended for the rest of the season on condition he is not convicted of any offence involving an element of violence,” reads the judgment.

“The fine of $2,000, together with the cost of hearing, to be paid by 31st August 2015. In addition the accused is further banned for three official matches of the Premier Soccer League with effect from the 1st of July, 2015.

“The evidence against the accused was so overwhelming . . . In arriving at the appropriate sentence we have taken into account the fact that the complainant is an innocent and defenceless woman who was carrying out her duties.

“Such barbaric behaviour cannot be condoned by any right thinking person.

“She is one of the few women who have strived to excel in a male-dominated sector and we have people like Stephen exhibiting stereotype primitive behaviour.”

The committee said the referee Thomas Masaa should have given Alimenda a red card following the incident as it was reported to the match officials.

The midfielder had just returned to first team action last week when he featured in DeMbare’s 3-2 win over Highlanders.

He missed the previous game against ZPC Kariba as he was sitting on three yellow cards.

Dynamos are set to leave for Hwange early this morning for the long trip to Hwange.

Coach David Mandigora will have to call upon either Milton Makopa or Walter Mukanga to partner Godknows Murwira in the midfield battles.

Team manager Richard Chihoro said they do not expect an easy outing at the Colliery.

“Obviously, Hwange will be tough but we expect some positive performances when we go there. That win against Highlanders was a morale booster and the boys are all charged up,” said Chihoro.

DeMbare could unleash their new forwards, Richard Kawondera and Takesure Chinyama, if their papers are sorted out in time for the game.

Chinyama’s International Transfer Certificate is yet to arrive from South Africa while Triangle by yesterday had not yet to cleared Kawondera, whose contract with the club expired during the week.

Hwange coach Nation Dube said the coalminers are hoping to bounce back from last week’s defeat at the hands of How Mine.

Dube’s men are winless in their last three outings and will be without their top striker Evans Rusike who is away in South Africa for trials at Maritzburg United.

Central defender David Boriwondo is also out serving suspension after accumulating three yellow cards.

“We are not losing sleep at all because we are prepared for them. It’s games such as these that you really don’t have to say anything to motivate the players. Playing against Dynamos is self-motivating.

“Unfortunately, I haven’t watched Dynamos play this season but I believe they are still a very good side. But every game is different, each day has its own things. So we aim to be very competitive,” said Dube.
