THE Casino Bar situated at Ascot Racecourse has introduced a ‘Whiskey Wednesday’ as part of efforts to lure mature crowds who appreciate the finer things in life to patronise the nightspot.

The bar, an affiliate of youthful Club Eden, has been operating for close to two years. It was launched to cater for crowds who do not want the hustle and bustle at Eden.

Casino Bar manager, Emmanuel Mahaso said they wanted to promote a culture of colleagues meeting after work to unwind after a long day.

“Whiskey Wednesdays are simply meant for people to relax while sipping on their favourite drinks. The music is mellow which goes hand in hand with the luxurious environment.

“It’s nothing too hectic and is a perfect opportunity for people to take sundowners,” said Mahaso.

The Whiskey Wednesdays are on every Wednesday with experienced DJ Kead Wikead manning the decks. His music will be a selection of old school, hip hop, kwaito, R&B and soul music.

What makes the Wednesday outing unique from other days is that whiskeys such as Johnnie Walker and Jameson will be on promotion, starting from $30 per bottle.

Soccer lovers have also been considered as the venue will be showing European Champions League games from next week Tuesday.

Fridays have been set aside for those who enjoy singing in the shower as the bar hosts a “Karaoke and Live Band night” where patrons can test their singing skills on renditions of their all time favourite songs.

Live music is also provided by jazz outfit, One Stand Band.
