THE Bulawayo Amateur Football Association (Bafa) board will today hold a meeting with Townshend and Butcher management in preparation for the annual tournament that is set to kick off next week.
The 57th edition of the tournament will be played at four venues following  the closure of their traditional Barbourfields outside grounds in preparation for the upcoming Region Five Games.

The venues that will be used will be Mzilikazi High School, Queenspark, Sotshangane and Mzilikazi Youth Centre. The tournament which is probably the oldest Bafa tournament in the city was first held in 1957 and it boasts of several stars.

BCC West Park, Nga Chronicle, Rebels FC, Matabeleland High City, Mpilo United and Golden Hotspurs will battle it out with 10 other teams.

Bafa vice chairman Charles Chunda confirmed the meeting.

“We will be meeting with our sponsors tomorrow to prepare for this year’s tournament,” said Chunda.

Today: Greenspan Grounds: Nga Chronicle v Madamara, Zimbabwe School of Mines v Lions stores, Safe Guard v Tokar Stars.
Mzilikazi High School: Rebel v Mpilo, Golden Hotspurs v United FC, Securico FC v Bayi Bayi, Truck XI v BCC West Park.
