Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli has failed to recover from a hamstring injury and so will not feature against Ludogorets tonight.
Reds manager Brendan Rogers already has other injuries to deal with, most notably Daniel Sturridge, who is out until the new year with a thigh problem.

Elsewhere in the squad, Jon Flanagan (knee) and Suso (groin) are long-term absentees, while Jordan Henderson (illness), Jose Enrique (knee) and Mamadou Sakho (thigh) are all doubts for tonight’s clash.

For Ludogorets, defender Yordan Minev is available after serving a one-game ban against Basel, but striker Roman Bezjak misses out with a groin problem.

Liverpool come into today’s match on the back of a wretched run that has seen them lose their last four matches.

The Reds have also lost their last three Champions League matches without scoring a single goal, and find themselves in a tricky position in Group B – three points behind second-placed Basel, and joint with Ludogorets.

Their Bulgarian opponents beat Basel on matchday three, and have a chance of qualification if they can beat Liverpool today.

A draw would not be terminal for Liverpool, but it would leave them relying on Basel not beating Real Madrid.

When the two sides met in September, it was Liverpool who came out on top 2-1, thanks to a Balotelli goal and a stoppage-time Steven Gerrard penalty. — Telegraph
