BANGLADESH A won the first unofficial Test against Zimbabwe A by six wickets at the Cox’s Bazar Stadium on Wednesday. The home side rode on Saqlain Sajib’s record-breaking 15 wickets to win with two sessions to spare on the final day.

But they lost three wickets after starting the day on 43 for 1. Litton Das made 42 off 58 balls while Farhad Hossain and Naeem Islam were unbeaten on 16 and 15, respectively.

Apart from Sajib’s performance, legspinner Jubair Hossain’s four wickets on first-class debut was one of the positives from the lower-scoring game.

Both sides will now look to improve their batting, after being unable to cross 211 runs in the first innings, for the second unofficial Test that begins on September 21. – Cricinfo
