Bantu Rovers 1-1 Triangle
Bantu Rovers yesterday failed to ease their relegation worries after being held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Triangle.
The match played at Luveve Stadium was spoiled by crude tackles from either side as the two teams fought for maximum points.
Richard Kawondera was on target for the visitors in the first minute of the match while Bukhosi Sibanda equalised in the 81st minute from the spot.

There were four forced substitutions due to injuries.
A mid-air clash resulted in Bantu Rovers’ Teenage Hadebe and Triangle’s returnee from suspension, Charles Rukwanhi being replaced.

Referee Allan Bhasvi had to stop the match for three minutes to allow the medical team to attend to Rukwanhi who appeared to have sustained a serious head injury.
Triangle coach Biggie Zuze confirmed the fears on Rukwanhi after the match.

He said the club’s medical team would make sure that the player gets the best treatment.
In the first minute of the match, Kawondera rushed into the box beating a sleepy Bantu Rovers defence to drill a shot past Takunda Mutanga in goals.

After the Triangle goal, Bantu Rovers tried to go for the equaliser and their defence led by Herbert Dick seemed to have awoken from its slumber. Dick was playing his first match for Methembe Ndlovu’s team after switching from How Mine.

The first substitution of the match came in the 13th minute when Bantu Rovers brought in Bukhosi Sibanda for injured Lawson Nkomo.
Another substitution was in the 33rd minute when Triangle brought in Muneri Muchineripi for Rukwanhi.

Bantu Rovers fluffed several chances in the first half with one notable one in the 44th minute falling to Tadzwa Ngwena. His shot was blocked by Willard Gondo.
The second half saw more crude tackles and substitutions.

Son of former Fire Batteries and Highlanders winger Lewis Kutinyu, Tafadzwa came in for Ngwenya on 49 minutes and in the 64th minute Bantu’s Nqobizitha Masuku was taken out for Benson Phiri.

Hillary Bakacheza was to be replaced two minutes later after another injury making way for Blessing Maziwisa.
Bantu Rovers equalised in the 81st minute from the penalty spot after Entumbane boy Majika had been fouled in the box by Praise Tonha and William Mapfumo.
Sibanda beat the visitors’ goalkeeper to make it 1-1.
