South Africa’s finest artistes, Beatenberg of the Pluto (Remember You) fame and Goldfish Live will this year headline the Jameson Vic Falls Carnival taking place in the resort town from December 29 to 31.The three-day annual extravaganza which is now in its third year will also see equally talented local acts Winky D and legend Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi performing.

Winky D is no stranger to festivals, but it is his ability to rise to the occasion with a different audience that will be put to test during carnival. It will however be Tuku’s second time to perform at the carnival after a successful show during the first edition where he shared the stage with South Africa’s Zahara.

Early bird tickets have been pegged at $55 for a day entry and $100 for a three-day pass.

Speaking on their debut performance at the carnival, the electronic duo of Goldfish Live said: “We’re so excited to be heading down to the Jameson Vic Falls Carnival this year.

“We’ve been playing all over the world but there’s nothing more special to us than playing in Africa. This will be our first ever performance in Zimbabwe and we can’t wait to spend our festive season in this amazing place!”

Having proved their musical credentials with a record-breaking eight South African Music Awards nominations and numerous number one hits, Goldfish Live’s genre-defying mix of live instruments, house beats and searing live performances have made them popular not only regionally but internationally.

A stream train, which is always one of the carnival’s biggest highlights, will take the carnivalistas to a secret bush, deep in the nature reserve on December 29 for a bush party. On their way to the secret bush in Jafuta, people will be partying on the train.

A New Year’s festival will shut down the festival at the Victoria Falls Primary School fields.

Organisers of the event — Seed Experiences said this year’s carnival would set Victoria Falls — the African adventure capital ablaze.

“Whether you are a seasoned festival-goer or an adventurous newbie, this is a festival you need to add to your calendar and tick off that bucket list,” read part of a statement released on the carnival’s Facebook page.

The Jameson Vic Falls Carnival showcases artistes from all over Southern Africa and caters for all musical tastes as long as one is ready to party into the New Year.
