DURBAN’s finest kwaito group, Big Nuz are set to perform in the City of Kings on April 17 at the Bulawayo Amphitheatre.
The Hawaii and Umlilo hit-makers who last performed in the city two years ago, will perform with local acts whose contracts are yet to be finalised.

South African- based show promoters, Zero One One Entertainment said preparations for the event were at an advanced stage.

“The kwaito stars are excited about their Bulawayo show. They’ll play music from their upcoming album that’s due for release later this year.

“We’re still working on the contracts for locals and the names will be released soon,” Zero One One Entertainment chief executive officer, Sammy Washington Washaya said.

Washaya said by bringing Big Nuz, his company was responding to a request from the people of Bulawayo who are yearning for quality acts from South Africa.

“Zero One One Entertainment was once interviewed on Star FM earlier in the year and most callers were from the Matabeleland region. They requested us to bring Big Nuz to Bulawayo because the kwaito group was popular in the city.”

Besides Bulawayo, Big Nuz has staged successful shows in Mutare and Harare, often leaving fans clamouring for more.

Washaya who is based in South Africa and communicates with most artistes there, said most of them want to perform in Zimbabwe.

He encouraged local artistes to take advantage of the opportunities that might come with sharing the stage with international acts by improving their live performances.

“Zimbabwe is good for events because if you bring the right artiste the show is bound to be a success. This is what motivates these international acts to keep coming back.

“I want to urge local artistes who get the chance to perform with international artistes to make the most of these opportunities because you never know what might come your way,”
