Blackrock continue to sing the blues, Hwange run riot

HWANGE Reserves FC continued to send warning shots of their intentions to play in the Southern Region Division One next year by storming to the top of the Zifa Mat North Division 2A league after a 4-1 clobbering of visiting Lukosi Pirates at the Colliery Stadium at the weekend.

Ted Ncube, Proud Muleya, Prosper Masuku and Charlton Nyathi took turns to hit the back of the net to floor Pirates, who scored a consolation through Moses Khumalo.

Moto Moto maintained the pressure by edging OT Lions Academy 2-1 courtesy of a Nomatter Mwembe brace, with OT Lions Academy replying through Merki Chiku.

Former log leaders Blackrock FC continued to sing the blues after losing 2-1 at home to visiting Ingagula. Garaipasi Chirwa and Malvin Ngwenya scored for Ingagula, while Timothy Chuma pulled one back for Blackrock.

Classic Luyando stayed within shouting distance of the top after edging stubborn Nengasha Stars 2-1 at Lwendulu Old ground with goals by Lesley Mulenga (brace) and Stars scoring through Edwin Mumpande.

Baobab Rovers edged Amagagasi U-19 1-0 thanks to a goal by Shaun Pumulo, while Trumus Warriors continued with their dazzling form after hammering Flying Elephants 3-0. Craig Mabhena, Carlos Dube and Shepherd Lupondo’s goals completed the whitewash.

In a pulsating Dete derby, Iwisa Sparrows thrashed Shumba Stars 4-2, with Sleek Nikisi, Qhubekani Zimba, Peace Mwanza and Freedom Bonyela on target for the winners. Stars responded through Doubt Majora’s brace.

In Binga, runaway leaders Lunda FC might as well start popping champagne bottles after whacking Muchesu Bombers FC 4-1 at their Muchesu Primary School ground on Sunday.

Obey Muleya (brace) and goals apiece by the Munkombwe brothers Witness and Shonipani Munkombwe did the damage.

Saba FC and Kamativi FC drew 2-2, with Saba scoring through Onward Muleya and Jonah Mumpande, while Kamativi got the goals from Amandu Amadi and Milburn Zimba.

Pride Munkuli and Pride Mudimba scored for  Lubanda FC  and Siansali in their 1-1 draw.

Mangani FC edged Siavwandu FC to complete the weekend action.
