BULAWAYO soccer giants Highlanders are ranked higher than English Premier League side Queens Park Rangers, according to the latest club rankings released by a leading European-based global football database.
On a list of rankings for recognised clubs in the world, Highlanders are the 406th best club in the world and are 27th in Africa with 1,454 points while the English club, QPR, is ranked 577. Former Premiership clubs Reading, where Kelvin Kaindu did his attachment and Portsmouth, once home to Benjani Mwaruwari, are ranked 426th and 476 respectively.

Bosso slipped 59 places down the ladder as a result of their loss of form in the second half of the season.

Zimbabwe’s most successful club, Dynamos, have 1,516 points, and are ranked 202 on the world stage and the 10th best club in Africa.

Football Database, calling themselves the greatest source of football data in the world, ranks DRC’s TP Mazembe as the best club in the world while European champions Real Madrid lead the global rankings with 2,023 points.

Former European champions and German giants, Bayern Munich, are second with 1,986 points.

English giants Manchester United are not in the top 10, in fact the Red Devils find themselves on position 20 with 1,727 points.

A still teething FC Platinum is the third best Zimbabwean side on the rankings, coming up on position 529 with 1,412 points while former Cup Kings Caps United are ranked 533 with 1,412 points, followed by coal miners Hwange who are on 693 with 1,378 points. Chicken Inn are on position 706 having accumulated 1,376 points.

Former African club champions Enyimba are the 426th best team in the world.

South African giants Kaizer Chiefs, without doubt the most supported club in Southern Africa, are ranked 127th in the world and sixth in Africa with 1,561 points.
