HIGHLANDERS Football Club star defender Peter Muduhwa yesterday denied reports linking him to musician and Skyz Metro FM radio personality TKP, real name Sandisiwe Dube, after social media went into overdrive with rumours that the two were a couple.

Sources told an online publication, Fokus Magazine, that the two have been an item since last year after meeting at the Skyz Metro FM launch at Ok Mart in Bulawayo.

It was also reported that the couple were seen together at the Kalawa Homecoming Party in December where Muduhwa was reportedly arrested for carrying marijuana.

With Valentine’s Day less than a month away, it appeared the city was going to see its first celebrity couple in the style of a no nonsense 23-year-old defender and a sassy 26-year-old rapper cum radio personality.

However, Muduhwa, who is in South Africa for trials with Absa Premiership outfit Bidvest Wits FC, rebutted the claims asking whether it was a crime for two celebrities to be seen together in public.

“I know TKP from around and that’s all. I went to Kalawa with my friends to have some fun and TKP was there. All I did was say hie and we chatted, then people say we are now a couple. I have a girlfriend and I can’t imagine how she feels when she sees these things circulating,” said Muduhwa.

Quizzed on the pictures of the two seemingly cosing up to each other, Muduhwa said the pictures that were taken a long time ago by TKP.

“TKP took the pictures a long time ago and I’ve even forgotten when and where. I take a lot of pictures with fans and people I know. I don’t know why people are doing this to me. I thought people liked me enough not to spread lies to the media,” said Muduhwa.

He said he was focused on his trials at Bidvest Wits FC.

TKP on the other hand could neither deny or confirm the claims, preferring not to comment.
