ACTION resumes in the Bulawayo Metropolitan Cricket Association Titan Law sponsored league tomorrow after a month-long break. The league anchors, Emakhandeni take on second placed Roosters at Queens Sports Club tomorrow. Among players expected to carry the day for Emakhandeni are John “Master Spin” Nyumbu, Brian Chari, Steve Chimhamhiwa and Thabo Mboyi.

Having represented Bulawayo at last year’s National Cricket League alongside Queens Sports Club, Emakhandeni with 19 points, six behind tomorrow’s opponents, will want to close the gap to enhance their chances of competing against the country’s best clubs.

Roosters are also on 24 points and can dislodge BAC at the top of the table if they win their game.

“It’s going to be an interesting cricket weekend for the fringe players as they will get to rub shoulders with first class cricketers during the local league. As Matabeleland Tuskers chief executive officer, I’m guaranteeing sport lovers that our top players will be part of the local league,” said said Stanley Staddon.

Matabeleland Tuskers who will play Botswana next month, are keeping their players busy by making it compulsory to play in the local club league.

Captain Godwill Mamhiyo, veteran Keith Dabengwa, Nkosana Mpofu, Bonaparte Mujuru, Brian Chari, Ainsley Ndlovu, Sean Williams and Mupariwa brothers Tawanda and Tafara are some of first-class cricketers to watch in the local league.

Mujuru, Kudzi Banda, Tawanda, Christopher Mpofu and Freedom Takarusenga are some of the players expected to lead Queens Sports Club on Sunday when they face BAC.
