The athlete is set to travel to the US this month. Her college is in the State of Oklahoma. Ngwarai said that besides athletics, the university has offered her a place to study for a degree in media studies. “I will also be studying for a degree with the university as part of the scholarship package.”

She won two silver and a gold medal at the South African Christian Schools Sports Association championships. She majors in sprint events with her best times being 24.8 seconds in the 200m and 56.5 in the 400m.

Ngwarai started her interest in athletics in Grade Five and has never looked backed since then.
The 19-year-old is happy about her feat and has encouraged parents to allow their children to participate in sport.

“Parents should support their children if they want to pursue sport as a career choice and I hope such events can be testimony that indeed athletics is also a wise option that one can benefit from,” said Ngwarai.

Nyasha Charandura, the founder and coach of NCA said that; “We are happy that five athletes from our academy have been invited abroad to pursue their God-given talent.”

The coach has several contacts abroad.
