CONTINENTAL football mother body Caf, have admitted to an error of the 2015 Caf C certificates’ issuance dates which were held in Zimbabwe and said appropriate certificates will be sent.

The documents are all dated September 30 despite the fact that training exercises for which they were given were held  on  different dates and parts of the country last year.  This raised eyebrows especially for those who attended the courses in October and November.

“There was an error made at CAF level with the date of issuance of the certificates.  That will be corrected and appropriate certificates sent back to Zimbabwe FA. This error is due to the fact the dates of the course were wrongly entered in the system so the licences were generated accordingly,” said Caf spokesperson Junior Binyam in an emailed response to inquiries from Chronicle Sport yesterday.

Chronicle Sport raised the issue with Zifa last week who were stunned by the revelation; nine months after the certificates were issued.

Acting Zifa technical director Mike Ngore said then that the certificates were sent to then technical director Maxwel Takaendesa Jongwe who was recently suspended over yet to be ascertained allegations.

“Maybe he (Jongwe) never realized the error but what I know is that Caf sent all the certificates for last year in one bunch. Like I said, I will have to find out from Caf how this error came about,” Ngore said then.
