LOCAL hip hop artistes Junior Brown and Cal_Vin seem to have buried the hatchet if their recent Facebook posts are anything to go by.

At the Harare International Festival of the Arts (Hifa) this past week where the two shared the stage during the Streets Hip hop tour, Junior Brown quashed any notion that the two have a feud.

Breezy, as Junior Brown is known to fans, posted the “bromance” moment of him hugging Cal_Vin on stage on his Facebook fan page with the caption: “Salute BYO’s finest and one of the most hardworking and talented Zim rappers of the generation Cal_Vin #Hiphop #TheCulture #Unity #Progress #Ngatizivanei #Asazaneni.”

In response Cal_Vin shared the post on his Facebook page with the caption: “It’s over,” adding: “Salute to Jnr Brown, now nothing can stop us from pushing the culture forward with both cities working together ?#ýSalute?.”

Fans welcomed the ceasefire with others saying they were looking forward to a collaboration between the two rappers.

For the past couple of months, the two rappers have been at each other’s ‘throats’ fighting for recognition. At one point, Junior Brown questioned why Cal_Vin had been named the best rapper in the country at last year’s Zimbabwe Hip Hop Awards where he bagged four awards. This resulted in him composing a diss track – Run It to silence Cal_Vin.

Cal_Vin responded with the release of Used to run it where he fired shots at Jnr Brown.

The clash, however, reached its boiling point in February this year at the National Art Merit Awards where Cal_Vin was allegedly beaten up by Junior Brown and crew.
