Mr Bornface Maseve said he was diagnosed with cancer in June last year and needs $4 480 for a full cancer treatment.

“I was diagnosed with lymph node cancer in June and doctors said I should undergo chemotherapy for the coming 10 months.

“Each chemotherapy treatment costs $640 and I am left with seven chemotherapy sessions,” he said.
Mr Maseve said doctors had advised him not to miss any chemotherapy in the next 10 months as prescribed.

“I was supposed to go for my next chemotherapy on 22 November, but I could not afford to buy the treatment. I have been on sick leave for the past four months and my wife had  also stopped working to look after  me.

“I am appealing for financial assistance so that I can fight cancer and be able to look after my family,” he said.

In a similar case a Kwekwe woman is appealing for financial assistance to undergo chemotherapy at Mpilo Central Hospital.
Ms Ina Tshuma said she was diagnosed with cancer in November.

“I had a wound, which I thought would heal with time. When I went to the hospital I was diagnosed with cancer they call squamous cell carcima of the frontal sinus.

“Doctors said I should undergo chemotherapy for the next five months and the treatment for each chemotherapy costs $120,” she said.

Ms Tshuma said she was appealing for financial assistance  from the business community and the public so that she can get treatment.

“The letter I got from the Social Welfare enabled me to see doctors, but pharmacies have refused to help me saying they need cash.

“I am appealing to the public to help me raise the money,” she said.
