BULAWAYO City have to fight another day after they held Caps United to a goalless Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match at National Sports yesterday.

The two sides did not create any meaningful chances with Caps United’s chance coming in the 64th minute when Devon Chafa launched an attack. Bulawayo City were the better side and could have punished Makepekepe with a counter as Edmore Sibanda had taken a free kick which was deflected and Rainsome Pavari broke loose.

The match had little action as Bulawayo City were in control with Bekhimpilo Ncube dictating the pace on the middle of the park.

Mark Mathe the Caps United assistant coach said they were happy for the point and are now looking forward to next week’s game against Highlanders.

“We are not effective in the final third and by that we did not create any meaningful chances. We hope that we win our last game and finish on a respectable position. The season was good as we started on a low note but managed to improve as the season progressed,” said Mathe.

Mandla Mpofu, the Bulawayo City coach said they now look forward to win their game against Bantu Rovers.

“We cannot control what has happened and our hope now lies in winning our last game against Bantu Rovers. We need to collect maximum points in that game so that we remain in the top flight. The point is good for us as it will help us. We need to build from this result for next week’s game. We missed a lot of opportunities which if we utilised we could have easily walk away with maximum points. Our game against Bantu will be one of our biggest game and we will not leave anything to chance. We need to survive and start a better side next season,” said Mpofu.
