AFTER keeping fans in suspense for months, rapper Cassper Nyovest has revealed the date for his much-anticipated, history making attempt to fill over 75 000 seats at FNB Stadium in Soweto.

Cassper announced on social media that the show, which is a follow up to the #FillUpTheDome and #FillUpOrlandoStadium series, would be one for the books.

The event is set for December 2 at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.

“We’re doing FNB Stadium and hoping for over 75 000 people. It’s probably going to be the biggest hip- hop concert in the world. We’re still working on the line-up. It’s going to be an amazing night,” he said.

Although the rapper did not want to divulge too many details about the event, he said his theme would be more African.

“I’m building a set, but I don’t want to mess it up for people. It’s going to be an African-themed jungle and it’s going to be crazy. I’ll be Mufasa (Lion King character) basically.

“We have to take it back to Africa. Last year we had a lot of 3D elements so this time, we just want to take it back home.”

Cassper said if he manages to fill up the 90 000 capacity stadium also known as Soccer City, he would have made history in staging the biggest hip hop concert in the world.

In 2015, he filled up the 20,000 capacity Ticketpro Dome which was a first. He did not leave it there because last year, he filled up the Orlando Stadium in Soweto.

The 26-year-old artiste also spoke about the genesis of his career, his first album, love life and fame.

His ex-girlfriend Boity Thulo’s name came up and also the song he has written for her titled “I wasn’t ready for you” which forms part of his latest album offering, “Thuto”.

In the song, he raps: “She just needed a man, you behaved like a boy. Manipulated her mind. Baby, I got you confused. It’s high-time I admit, I wasn’t ready for you.”

He revealed that Boity was good to him.

“She was a good girl and probably, somebody I’d have married at that point if I was ready,” he explained.-online
