CHICKEN INN have approached the Fifa Players’ Status Committee to help them recover their 30 percent share from Tendai Ndoro’s transfer fee from Mpumalanga Black Aces to Orlando Pirates.

When Ndoro moved to Mpumalanga Black Aces in 2013, a clause was inserted in the sale agreement that if the player made a move within five years, the Bulawayo side would get 30 percent of the transfer fee.

The national team striker then moved from Mpumalanga Black Aces to Orlando Pirates in June 2015, but Mpumalanga Black Aces failed to honour the deal.

The Bulawayo-based club has engaged Zifa in desperate attempts to recover their share through the South African Football Association, but in vain.

Chicken Inn chairman Lifa Ncube told Chronicle Sport yesterday that they had taken the matter to Fifa and had paid a deposit of $5 000 for their case to be heard.

“We’ve approached Fifa because we were not getting any joy after going through Safa. We felt we were given a raw deal because when Ndoro moved we were supposed to get a certified copy of his transfer agreement, which never happened. We are now waiting for Fifa to make a ruling,” said Ncube.

According to the last correspondence to Chicken Inn from Fifa in November 2016, a United Kingdom-based Fifa Players’ Status Committee judge Geoff Thompson was expected to hear the matter after getting submissions from the Gamecocks and Mpumalanga Black Aces.

The communiqué, which was addressed to Chicken Inn’s chairman and Mpumalanga Black Aces representative Farai Razano was also copied to Zifa and Safa.

“We would like to inform both parties that we will proceed to submit the present matter to the single judge of the Players’ Status Committee, Mr Geofff Thompson (England),” reads the letter written by Laura Romer-Zantonelli, a Players’ Status Committee legal counsel.

Mpumalanga Black Aces, who sold their franchise to Cape Town City last year, claim they offloaded Ndoro to Orlando Pirates because they had no capacity to pay the striker.
