SUPERSPORT will this afternoon screen live the presentation ceremony of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League cup to champions Chicken Inn after the end of their league match against Flame Lily at Lafarge Stadium in Harare.

The Division One bound Flame Lily will form a guard of honour for newly crowned champions Chicken Inn.

Elisha Mandireva, the PSL competitions manager, said soccer fans who will fail to make it for the trophy presentation can watch the ceremony live on SuperSport.

“The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season ends tomorrow and our partners SuperSport will broadcast the match against Chicken Inn and Flame Lily live. This will afford fans who might not make it to Lafarge an opportunity to watch the crowning ceremony from the comfort of their homes,” said Mandireva.

The Gamecocks won the championship last weekend after beating Harare City 3-1 at Luveve Stadium to reach an unassailable 58 points.

The Gamecocks will be without skipper Danny “Deco” Phiri and their leading scorer Edmore Chirambadare for the final game. They are being protected from picking yellow cards that might rule them out of Soccer Star of the Year selection.

Joey Antipas, the Gamecocks’ coach, said they want to end the season in style by beating Flame Lily, adding that he will give game time to players who knocked out ZPC Kariba from the Easycall Cup.

“We want to cap our season with a victory. The boys are in a relaxed mood and what I’ve told them is to go and enjoy their game,” said Antipas.

In the absence of Phiri and Chirambadare, veteran Clemence Matawu will guide the Gamecocks.

Lawrence Mhlanga, Moses Jackson, Brian Juru, Mitchell Katsvairo and George Majika are some of Chicken Inn’s players expected to shine.
