BULAWAYO Chiefs and Amagagasi will be hoping to extend their unbeaten run in the Zifa Southern Region Division One League to four games when they take on ZPC Hwange and Talen Vision respectively tomorrow.

Chiefs and Victoria Falls-based Amagagasi are the only teams in the league yet to drop points after three rounds of matches, with the Bulawayo side topping the table due to a superior goal difference. Both teams are sitting on nine points.

ZPC Hwange are perennial championship contenders and are expected to give Chiefs a good run for their money in the coal mining town.

The power generators sit third on the league table with seven points from two wins and a draw, and will be hoping to hand Chiefs their first defeat of the season.

Chiefs will be playing their first match out of Bulawayo this season and captain Kundishora Chakanyuka anticipates a tough game.

“Our focus is on trying to get positive results with every outing. ZPC Hwange have always been difficult opponents, especially when they’re playing at home, but we’ll try our best to get a positive result,” said Chakanyuka.

Amagagasi’s opponents Talen Vision are in their maiden season in Division One and are presently seventh with four points.

Both sides won their games last weekend, with Amagagasi beating Black Boots 2-0 in Bulawayo and Talen Vision edging Hwange Juniors 1-0 at the Colliery.

Highlanders 90 are fourth on the table with six points from three matches and are at home to Hwange Juniors this weekend.

The Bosso juniors’ coach Melusi Sibanda is looking forward to another fruitful weekend.

“The fact that the boys don’t have any championship related pressure makes them enjoy the game and get desired results. We’re hoping to continue with our fine form and improve with every outing,” said Sibanda.

Former Premiership side Bantu Rovers return to action after two-weeks of inactivity. They had been scheduled to play Quelaton and Trumus in the last two matches, but the two clubs failed to fulfil the fixtures and have since been kicked out of the league.

Bantu Rovers will be at home to Black Boots at White City Stadium tomorrow.
