JOHANNESBURG — South Africa’s football giants, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates recorded victories in their premiership matches played in Soweto on Saturday.
Log leaders Kaizer Chiefs’ two goals from Reneilwe Letsholonyane at FNB Stadium and an own goal by Bidvest Wits goalkeeper Rowen Fernandez at Orlando Stadium gave the Soweto giants the much needed three vital points.
The victories on Saturday saw Kaizer Chiefs win six-out-of-six premiership games thereby collecting a maximum of 18 points while Orlando Pirates’ lucky win saw them jump two places up the ladder to a credible third position.

The Amakhosi / University of Pretoria encounter was a close contest with Kaizer Chiefs only sailing through due to their experience and endurance, otherwise it was an evenly balanced affair.
