ZIFA Bulawayo Provincial chairman Washington Chimanda who died last Friday, will be buried tomorrow. Chimanda, 54 collapsed and died while in a queue waiting to be served at a local microfinance institution. The Zifa boss who was a teacher at Emakhandeni Primary School, complained of dizziness before collapsing and was pronounced dead by an ambulance crew that attended him.

A family spokesperson, who only identified himself as Shoko said: “We haven’t finalised on his final resting place yet as we’re still waiting for his post mortem results. However, we’re expecting everything to be in place by tomorrow evening and that’s when everything will be clear.”

Chimanda got into football administration in the 1990s as a provincial treasurer. He became the Zifa Bulawayo provincial secretary in 2002 and in 2014 he beat Horace Ndubiwa to become chairman.
