Oscar Muzinda Chronicle Reporter THE Chronicle and a local wholesaler, N Richards, have separately donated an assortment of goods to a woman from Bulawayo’s Sizinda suburb who delivered triplets last month. The paper published 29-year-old Cynthia Moyo’s plight on February 9 when she appealed for assistance to look after her babies. The Chronicle donated clothes and nappies for the triplets. Presenting the donation on Wednesday, the company’s representative, Esther Linje, said the clothes were donated by members of staff after they read in the newspaper that the triplets were in need of clothes and other things. Moyo thanked The Chronicle for helping her saying that few people can extend their hand to the needy like what The Chronicle had done.

“I’m very thankful for the kindness you’ve shown to me and my children as an organisation. Your donation is very important for the upkeep of my children,’’ said Moyo. Her aunt, Otilia Sibanda, thanked The Chronicle for remaining in touch with the triplets’ family saying it shows that it’s a humane organisation with people at heart. Sibanda said the family received another donation from N Richards who partnered with a non-governmental organisation called Musi Trust Zimbabwe. “We received two boxes of baby milk with 24 tins. We’re so grateful because the mother now has supplementary milk for the children,’’ said Sibanda.

The aid came after The Chronicle published the story highlighting the plight of the triplets and their mother. Moyo thanked the wholesale outlet for coming to her aid saying that she is struggling to breastfeed her babies. “I want to thank the wholesale and the non-governmental organisation for considering the plight of my children and I as the mother. I’m struggling to feed them with breast milk alone,’’ said Moyo.

Her aunt, Otilia Sibanda, said she is grateful because the donations would go a long way in helping the triplets as well as the mother. She said the mother was losing weight because she had to breastfeed the children whenever they get hungry. This is not the first time The Chronicle has donated to families who had been blessed with triplets. In October 2014, the company donated to two families from Matobo and Bulawayo after they were blessed with triplets.
