A FAMILY from Pumula South suburb in Bulawayo is appealing for help in locating their elderly mother who disappeared from a church in Nkulumane 12 where she was receiving prayers.

Mrs Elitha Ncube (66) suffers from dementia and memory loss among a host of other ailments and had been taken by elders from the Universal church for a prayer and healing session on Sunday when she disappeared.

Her worried daughter Ms Noalala Faith Ndlovu yesterday telephoned The Chronicle from the United Kingdom saying she had been informed by their maid, Ms Siphatheleni Mhlanga, that Mrs Ncube had not returned home from the prayer session.

“We are worried sick about her. She has dementia and is on medication.

“Most of the time she does not know who she is. The elders from the church led by a man called Professor came to our house and took my mum saying they will give her anointing oil.

“They took her to the church and apparently she wandered off without anyone noticing. She could be anywhere right now.

“We are appealing to anyone who has seen her to notify us or the police,” she said.

Mrs Ncube was wearing a white T-shirt, brown jacket, black and blue skirt, black hat and a pair of black Tommy tennis shoes when she disappeared.

The family has since reported the matter to the police.
