MANROLLO Trading, a Bulawayo-based company, has introduced a new Sutha supa instant mageu and choice cereal meal products.

The two products were introduced during the just ended Zimbabwe International Trade Fair.

Mageu is a traditional non-alcoholic meal replacement energy drink.

One of the company’s directors, Mbonisi Mlotshwa, said the products were meant to enhance flavour and suit customer demand for variety.

“Mageu is used by the majority of the population and for many people it gives the needed energy to fulfill a hard day’s work,” said Mlotshwa.

The drink is rich in vitamins and minerals.

Sutha supa mageu, he added, can be mixed with water at any time of the day and provides a number of benefits to consumers in a convenient manner especially for those with tight schedules.

“Sutha is the traditional Zulu/Ndebele word for ’fill up’, which is what our product is intended to do for the consumer,” Mlotshwa said.

He said they chose to launch their new products at ZITF since the platform was a wide marketing ground that brings together all relevant local and foreign players.

Mlotshwa said their firm has partnered with a South African company called Almefusion based in Pretoria that also introduced the new products in November 2014.

“A team of nutritionists developed an instant mageu powder for a company called Almefusion, which is based in Pretoria. Since we were looking for a product of trade we joined forces with this company,” Mlotshwa said.

“Looking at companies like Delta, their profitable product is maheu, so I feel the market is ready for our new product.”

He said if the product does well in Zimbabwe they would consider setting up a local production plant as a way of increasing job opportunities.
