ZIMBABWE’S Copa Coca-Cola Under-15 boys and girls dream teams are expected to leave for Durban, South Africa, tomorrow for a global camp that will run until October 9.

The camp will see participants from different countries, including South Africa, Russia, Nigeria, Tunisia and Kenya, taking part.

For the girls, it will be their first appearance at the event that previously focused more on boys.

The girls’ team will be under the guidance of Yeukai Chiruvu, who guided Chidyamakono to five titles since 2013 while Eremu Joseph Madzinga of Rusununguko High School, the boys’ current champions will be in charge of the boys.

The players will have the opportunity to go through mentorship and football skills drills from professional coaches who will be availed to them.

They will tour a number of places, including the Moses Mabhida Stadium and Durban City.

The delegation will be led by National Association of Secondary School Heads acting head in charge of football, Ropafadzo Matemavi and Coca-Cola marketing activations manager, Vee Chibanda.

Chibanda said they are excited to have the girls on board for the camp and is hopeful it will help the youngsters.

During the camp, teams are going to compete in five-a-side matches.  The draw will be conducted tomorrow when all teams arrive and they will play in group stage games on Friday, followed by quarter-finals and semi-finals on Saturday. The finals are scheduled for Sunday as well as the third and fourth play-offs.

Zimbabwe are former holders of the African Copa Coca-Cola trophy after they won the gong in South Africa, in 2013.
