THE Siyaya Arts, Zambezi Express theatre production came to an end on Saturday evening after 10 days of non-stop exhilarating performances at the Bulawayo Theatre as part of the group’s 25-year celebrations.

Those who attended the shows were treated to the very best of the performing arts as the production was fast paced, invigorating, comical, colourful and above all, filled with dances, contemporary and traditional music.

Siyaya director and play choreographer — Saimon “Mambazo” Phiri said of the 10 shows, four of them commanded full houses.

“The shows went very well and I was pleased by the turnout. This shows that there’s a future for theatre provided we supply quality entertainment and Zambezi Express is just that,” said Mambazo.

He thanked performing artistes from other groups, Iyasa, Sekunjalo MaAfrica and Imvimbi Arts for celebrating with them through Zambezi Express, which was a collaborative effort.

“Collaborating as art groups is effective as we can tap into the talents of other groups, therefore adding quality to the production.

“Zambezi Express couldn’t have been a success without members from Iyasa, Sekunjalo MaAfrica, Imvimbi Arts and Nomashawekazi Damasane who we roped in.”
