THE CONFEDERATION of Zimbabwe Industries (CZI) is set to hold a regional workshop on Zimbabwe Agenda for Sustainable Socio-Economic Transformation (Zim Asset) in Bulawayo later this month.
In a statement, the CZI said the workshop will be open to both the private and public sector.
“The workshop is an open invitation to all stakeholders from government, private sector, active businesses and the civil society groups in Matabeleland and the Midlands.”

The workshop will focus on engaging in a public private dialogue on the current policy instruments to promote economic growth.
“The objective of the seminar is to engage in a public private dialogue on the current policy instruments and agree on jointly monitoring policy implementation period specifically focusing on ZimAsset,” read the statement.

CZI said the seminar would help establish the level of correspondence between Zim Asset and the expectations of the private sector.
“We will try to establish the level of congruence between Zim Asset and the expectations of the private sector and find ways of addressing any disparities.”

The industrial lobby group said it expects to come up with priority policy engagement for the private sector to guide the National Business Agenda.

Government departments, business membership organisations and academics are expected to attend the seminar.
“Relevant government departments as the custodians and discussants of Zim Asset, BMOs as key players in policy implementation process, business people as the recipients of the policy and academics are invited to attend the workshop.”

The workshop will be held at the Holiday Inn on February 20.
