POPULAR South African musician, Dan Tshanda believes that he holds the keys to the success or failure of Dalom music.

Tshanda is responsible for the rise and success of Patricia Majalisa, Matshikos, Dalom Kids and Splash.

Posting on his Facebook page Tshanda said the reason for the success of his stable was because he was the one who was the brains behind it.

“I want my fans to know this, Dalom Music will always be successful as long as I’m still alive and I get support from my fans. I’m the engine of this music, I formed it, all musicians that I worked with and I’m still working with, I tell them how I want them to sing, they don’t tell me,” said Tshanda.

He added that he was the reason every song on any Dalom musician’s album produced by him was a hit.

“I don’t copy anyone’s music I’m rather copied. If you buy original CDs, you’ll see that I’m the composer, producer, engineer, arranger so I own all my music. They are some people who help me with some lyrics,” said Tshanda.

Questioned about the message, Tshanda said it was directed at one promoter named Tom Wardle who was using his page to promote his shows on his Facebook page.

“The message was for Tom a promoter because he wants to use the Dalom Page to promote his artistes. I don’t want any other artists that are not under Dalom music to be promoted in any of my pages,” said Tshanda.

Turning to his career the Lufuno hit-maker said this year fans should expect a new album and shows in Bulawayo.

“I’m working on a new album that will have the feel of the good old splash music. The songs have been recorded and I’ll keep fans posted on when it’ll be out,” said Tshanda.

He said his new range of caps, t-shirts and scarves were selling like hotcakes.

“This shows that the stable is still strong which is confirmed by the merchandise being sold. When we come to Zimbabwe these will be available for our fans so they have not been left out,” said Tshanda.
