THE National Darts Association of Zimbabwe (Ndaz) has set February 3, 2018 as the date for the annual Champion of Champions tournament that will see nine 2017 provincial champions and runners fighting for honours.

The dates were released this week in a circular from the Meynard Moyo-led association in which they also said the tournament will be held at Zesa Munyati in the Midlands.

“We are expecting 18 teams to come for the Club champion of champions. Each team should pay a registration fee of $300 and players’ full names should tally with what is in the provincial as well as national database and should be sent on or before December 22 this year,” reads the communiqué.

The teams, according to the communiqué, will be in four groups that will see two groups made up of five teams while the other two will consist of four teams.

“Ten teams will be knocked out in the first round and will get $200 for their sweat with $250 being set aside for the four losing teams in the quarterfinals while the losing semifinalists will get $300 plus medals,” said Ndaz, one of the few well organised national sports associations in the country.

The losing finalists will leave the tournament $400 richer plus silver medals while the 2017 Club Champion of Champions get $500 and gold             medals.

“Best of 36 format is to be used but can be changed at the discretion of the top table or tournament organisers’ decision” wrote Ndaz.

Bulawayo province will be represented by the provincial champions, Railstars and runners up Highlanders.
