has become a staple on MTV Base, available on DStv.
The rousing video which was shot in Los Angeles stars D’Banj as Mr Endowed and his side kick Don Jazzy, who has produced most of Nigeria’s hottest hits.
So popular is Nigerian music that even in Zimbabwe most music lovers have embraced the exploits of 2Face, D’Banj and P Square.
There is no denying the fact that Nigerian musicians are thinking outside the box and the latest video which is a collaboration between the two great artistes is just the tip of the iceberg.
It starts with a radio programme announcing the arrival of D’Banj who is chauffeured in a green and white Rolls Royce meant to show that “Naija boy was rolling”.
D’Banj or the Cocoa Master as his Ghanaian fans fondly call him, meets Snoop in the house and then introduces D’Banj as his nephew.
There are flashes of designer “bling” as well as raunchy models strutting their stuff while red roses are splashed on the floor.
But one thing that is clear about the video is that the two had a great time working together and it’s hardly surprising that D’Banj had to push the release date from last year to this year to include Snoop, his American uncle.
The collaboration worked as Snoop laces his verse over a bouncy beat while D’Banj also bring his “swagga” on the video.
This is one of the many video’s that are dominating the playlists on the popular satellite music channels. D’Banj’s previous track “Fall in Love” also did some rounds on Channel O, MTV Base among others.
Other Nigerian artistes who are making waves include 2Face Idibia who won Artist of the Year Award at the MAMAs, P Square. Dr Sid and Ice Prince of the Oleku fame.
