DYNAMOS chairman Kenny Mubaiwa yesterday took a dig at his coach Callisto Pasuwa accusing him of “unprofessional conduct” and described DeMbare’s championship-winning players as “average”.Pasuwa made history on Sunday by becoming the first coach in the modern day Premiership to win four successive titles but in a dramatic turn of events, the national team gaffer announced his divorce with DeMbare.

His sentiments caught the Dynamos bosses by surprise and that bombshell has incensed the Mubaiwa-led executive.

“I’ve heard through the grapevine that our coach is leaving the club at the end of next month. Surprisingly, he (Pasuwa) is employed by Dynamos FC where I’m the chairman and he knows the protocol, that is, to inform the club first about his departure. He had to talk to me but what he did was just unprofessional to issue a statement without even talking to us and now we just have to wait until December 31 before making any move on the coach,” said Mubaiwa.

Asked if they had plans to negotiate for a contract extension, Mubaiwa said; “We’ll have to think twice on whether to engage him or not.

With this kind of behaviour that he has shown us, truly it makes it almost impossible to sit with him. Because we have an open door policy, what we just have to do is to wait for him to finish what he started.”

The Dynamos boss said even though Pasuwa has won the most coveted silverware four times in a row, the only way for him to cement a lasting legacy at DeMbare is for him to win the Mbada Diamonds tournament and the Gushungo Cup.

The Harare giants face Highlanders on Sunday in the Gushungo Cup meant to celebrate President Mugabe’s resounding victory during last year’s elections.

“We are hoping to cap our season by winning the remaining trophies that is the Gushungo Cup on Sunday and Mbada Diamonds Cup which is coming later. It must be noted that as the leadership we have little to do in terms of preparing the team for these victories and that is why I would like to believe that if Pasuwa really wants to leave a mark at Dynamos, he has to win these two tournaments,” said Mubaiwa.

Although pleased with his club’s dominance  that has seen him being at the helm of history making leadership with four consecutive league titles, Mubaiwa said he was convinced that with  the calibre of players they have, they won’t make a mark in Africa.

“Obviously we wish to participate in the Champions League but that all depends on whether the funds will permit us or not. Today we wrote to our sponsors and we will be meeting them on Thursday that is when we will have a clear picture,” he said.

“But on another note, we don’t have quality players in our squad who can keep up with the heat required in Africa. If we don’t go to Africa next year it will give us time to prepare a team that will play good football in the 2016 edition. The squad that we have is made up of average players.”
