DeMbare to decide Ndiraya’s fate Tonderai Ndiraya

THE Dynamos executive will meet on Monday to decide the fate of interim coach Tonderai Ndiraya and his backroom staff.

DeMbare failed in their quest for immortality to grab an unprecedented fifth consecutive Premiership title, finishing second behind Chicken Inn, who won their maiden league title under the guidance of Joey Antipas.

Ndiraya, who became the first Dynamos coach to lose to Highlanders twice inside a year since 2006, will probably pay for the cardinal sin of losing to the Bulawayo giants.

“We regroup on Monday as an executive where we are going to review the year and see the way forward. We will also call the coach so that he speaks for himself and then after that we will be able to come out with a position as a club regarding his future,” said Dynamos president Kenny Mubaiwa.

Ndiraya took over the reins at the Glamour Boys in July, replacing club legend David Mandigora with the Harare giants second behind then leaders Triangle United on 29 points from 17 games.

Ndiraya’s reign saw Dynamos getting 28 points from 13 games, which is a better average compared to Mandigora, but it is probably the two losses to Bosso that put a dent on his record.

He lost 0-1 in the ZNA Commander’s Charity Shield final in his first match in charge of Dynamos. The Harare giants were then booted out of the lucrative Easycall Cup in the semi-finals in a 1-0 loss at Barbourfields.

Dynamos are eager to reclaim the league title and make a quick return to the African safari where they reached the Caf Champions League final in 1998 and lost to Asec Mimosas of Cote D’Ivoire.

They were semi-finalists in the same competition in 2008. They have won the Zimbabwe domestic league a record 16 times since independence with 12 coaches.
