WHAWHA coach Lloyd Mutasa is concerned that their destiny is no longer in their hands and his men now need to rely on other results to go in their favour to win their battle against relegation.

All the Premiership newboys are facing the possibility of being relegated at the end of season as they are occupying the bottom four slots.
Buffaloes are also still swimming in the murky waters.

Yesterday, Mutasa said they just have to keep hoping that they will be the ones who will survive in a brutal battle for survival.

“We still have 15 points to play for but the only problem is that our destiny is no longer in our hands but as a professional outfit we have to keep believing and try to win some of the matches and see how it goes,” said Mutasa.

“We are separated with Tsholotsho and Flame Lily by two, three points so beating them would give us an advantage.”

Mutasa’s men are still to play Chicken Inn at home and Harare City and CAPS United away in Harare.

“We have to bank on home ground as our players, when playing at home, are good and if we can win some games there it would be better.

“We last lost one match here in the first round and some of the games at Ascot ended up in draws.

“Our major drawback is playing away matches. Even if you look at our match against FC Platinum, it was in our hands but we gave away two soft goals which we were not supposed to concede,” said Mutasa.

Dongo Sawmill believe they can still survive relegation.

Assistant coach, Dananai Chinowawa, was in charge of the team’s weekend match against Highlanders after head coach Shadreck Mugurasave was involved in an accident in Mutare.

“The big problem is that most teams see us as a small team but they would be surprised. We are going to be party spoilers,” said Chinowawa.

“We want to prove that we are a good team that has been playing well.

“We still have Dynamos coming here, FC Platinum coming here, ZPC Kariba are also going to come here. We would be going away to Triangle and How Mine.

“We need 12 points from these games and I am sure we can survive relegation with 30 points.

“We are going to fight until the final whistle and there is still hope. I believe we are playing well.”
