Steve Sanders aka DJ Stavo and DJ Shota

KWEKWE-BASED house turntable maestro, DJ Stavo will on Saturday come to Bulawayo to launch the video of his hit-track Ingoma that features South African house artiste Shota of the Seng’khathele fame.
However, Shota will not make it to the launch at Club 40 Forty in Bulawayo.
The Ingoma video was shot in January this year in South Africa, but the track, released last year, has been making waves in South African and Zimbabwean night spots and airwaves.

In an interview yesterday from his Kwekwe base, DJ Stavo, real-name Steve Sanders said the video launch was set for Bulawayo because the city appreciates house music.

He said unfortunately Shota would not be there at the launch.
“Unfortunately due to some commitments Shota will not make it for the Bulawayo launch. The city has always been the home of house music in Zimbabwe and there is a huge number of people who appreciate the music.  So that is why we decided to launch in Bulawayo,” said DJ Stavo.

He said working on the video was a good experience that exposed him to big artistes.
“Working on the video was really good. It was quite an awesome experience working with big artistes like Shota,” said DJ Stavo.
He said all the hard work he put into his music was paying off.

“We wanted the video to be of high quality because of the amount of airplay the track was receiving. The next launch will be in Harare on a date to be advised,” said DJ Stavo.

He said there would be promotional material such as T-shirts and CDs to be given away during the video launch.
Bulawayo’s number one DJ Mzoe said they would be at the launch to support their colleague on the day of the show.

DJ Stavo produced Mnandi with Mandoza, Wena Wedwa featuring Lolo, YOLO which featured Trevor Dongo and Sweet Love with Roki and Ex Q, and Botswana’s Simple Night which features Zeus.
