DYNAMOS coach Lloyd Mutasa will know his fate next week when the former champions hold their end of year review meeting, club president Kenny Mubaiwa said yesterday.

Mutasa’s contract expires on New Year’s eve. He was first appointed DeMbare’s interim coach in May replacing controversial Portuguese coach Paulo Jorge Silva who had been hired under unclear circumstances.

Silva had a miserable stint at the Glamour Boys until the club parted ways with him and roped in Mutasa.

“We were meant to have our review meeting last week but decided to postpone it until after the holidays. We are meeting as an executive next week where we expect to get the coaches’ report and then decide on whether or not to continue with them,” said Mubaiwa.

The Harare giants, who boast 16 league titles since independence in 1980, finished outside the top four for the first time in 10 years. DeMbare finished fifth behind winners Caps United, runners-up FC Platinum, third-placed Highlanders and Chicken Inn.

Dynamos are rumoured to be eager to bring in David Bright from Botswana, who is believed to have watched the controversially drawn derby against Caps United on October 16.

Former Coach of the Year, Zambian Tennant Chilumba, is also reportedly linked to the post.

Mutasa is in his second spell as Dynamos coach, with his first stint coming in 2010 before he threw in the towel in August 2011.

That saw the emergence of Callisto Pasuwa, who went on to lead the Glamour Boys to four consecutive league titles. Dynamos have struggled since his departure in 2014 after taking charge of 101 league matches.
