Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe Junior Golf Association will host a tournament, to raise funds to meet the running of the association, at Chapman Golf Club tomorrow.
The association has appealed to sponsors to chip in and make the fundraising a success.
ZJGA president Roger Baylis said the funds will be channeled towards the costs of staging tournaments locally as well as meeting travel expenses in international tours.
Local juniors have excelled in international tournaments and they have managed to defend their tri-nations title in Botswana.
The local juniors also finished second best African country at the Eisenhower Trophy, behind South Africa, last year in Argentina.
Veteran golfer Baylis, who doubled as the national team manager and coach, also called on companies and individuals to join the fund-raising venture.
“Companies and individuals can come in the form of sponsoring the tournament itself or providing prices for the event or participating in the golf tournament.
“The format of the tournament will be four-ball better ball.
“The Zimbabwe junior golf has one of the strongest development programmes and a number of local top players have come through the junior ranks,” Baylis said
