FC Platinum are confident of posting a positive result when they host Young Africans of Tanzania in the second leg of the Confederations Cup at Mandava on Saturday. The Tanzanians carry a seemingly comfortable 5-1 lead.

“Football is full of surprises and although we aren’t going to underestimate our opponents we’re confident of posting a positive result. We might have lost to Caps United but our team chemistry during that game was clear on what we had come to do.

“The entire executive is behind the team and we’re definitely expecting good football,” said Chido Chizondo, FC Platinum spokesperson.

Platinum need a 4-nil win to progress to the next round or a 5-1 win to force a penalty shoot out and any other result in which they must outscore their opponents by more than five goals.

Norman Mapeza might have lost in Tanzania and his recent league match against Caps United but his lads are playing a passing game and they only need a bit of luck to get the desired results.

Yanga won their home match with goals from double scorer Murishi Ngasha, Salum Telela, Haruma Yinozina and Amis Tambwe.

The Zimbabweans will bank on the form of Walter Musona, the only player who managed to beat the Yanga goalkeeper, Ali Mujiafa.

The platinum defence lacked concentration and that resulted in Yanga taking advantage of the mistakes and punishing the Zimbabweans.

FC Platinum will welcome back chief striker Donald Ngoma.

Obrey Chirwa, Brian Muzondiwa and star player Musona are the other strikers who are expected to give Yanga a torrid time.
