BARBERTON Gym will hold a wellness and fitness expo in Bulawayo tomorrow. Edson Dube, the gym’s fitness trainer, said the wellness and fitness expo would be held at the gym and is free of charge to everyone who would want to participate.

“Participation in the expo is free and will begin in the morning at the gym,” he said.

Dube said the fitness expo is meant to educate people on various activities to keep the nation fit and healthy.

“The expo is meant to educate the public of the various fitness routines and exercises,” he said.

Dube said there will be three of the city’s best fitness trainers and instructors — Frank Nyamazana, Philemon Matika and himself.

They will educate the public on how to use fitness training equipment .

“Most of the people have got fitness training machines at their homes but lack the knowledge of effectively using them, so we will be teaching the public on how to use gym and exercise equipment on the day,” Dube said.

He said sports teams in most disciplines perform badly on the field because they are not fit.

“So we are trying our best to educate the public on how to stay fit even without the expensive exercise equipment found in most gyms. We will be teaching the public other various home training methods that can keep people fit. We have also realised that some of our city sports teams are unfit which contributes greatly to their poor perfomance, so we feel that such programmes can assist,” said Dube.
