ABOUT five senior players are pushing for a move out of Harare City after falling out with coach Moses ‘Bambo’ Chunga. Sources said Chunga was more interested in working with young players and this has frustrated a number of veterans.

“As I speak about five players have since stopped coming for training as they are considering moving out during the current Premier Soccer League transfer period,” said the source.

our sister paper The Herald can reveal that Warriors midfielder Raphael Manuvire, who joined from ZPC Kariba at the beginning of the year, has not reported for training for over a week now.

He hasn’t explained his absence as he angles for a move from the club.

Manuvire has struggled to make the same impact he made at ZPC Kariba.

Harare City secretary general Mathew Marara referred all the questions about Manuvire to Chunga saying the leadership had not received a transfer request from the player.

Chunga confirmed Manuvire had not reported for training and the last time he had heard from him was exactly two weeks ago.

“Manuvire has not been training with the team and he last communicated with me some two weeks ago,” said Chunga.

“As of now I don’t know where he is but at the moment he has not tendered any transfer request to the club.”

Manuvire is reported to be a Caps United target where he could provide the much needed creativity in the midfield for a Green Machine side seeking their maiden league title in over a decade.

Makepekepe manager Shakespear Chinogwenya chose not to comment on Manuvire’s intended move to his club.

Other senior players who could be angling for a move from the club are defenders Jimmy Tigere and Themba Ndlovu as well as midfielders Farai Madhanhanga and Tendai Samanja.
