FIVE Highlanders Football Club players were selected to the national Under-17 squad during the provincial selection process held at Barbourfields Stadium on Saturday. The players are expected to be in camp this week as they prepare for the first leg qualifier against Malawi on Sunday. Zimbabwe is in Group L in the qualifiers whose winners will book a ticket to the finals in Madagascar next year.

The selection process was done by Bulawayo based coaches who included legends juniors coach Ali Baba Dube, Bosso 90 manager and brother to Highlanders’ trio Madinda, Peter and the late Adam, Marko Dube, Agent Sawu, Melusi Sibanda and Farai Mujokoro. National Under-17 coach Tafadzwa Mashiri was also in attendance.

Also in attendance was acting Zifa Bulawayo province chairman Francis Ntuta. Flamboyant juniors side Bantu Rovers contributed four players while Chicken Inn has one, Nathaniel Moyo. The five Highlanders players selected were Denzel Dandadzi, Spencer Moyo, Darlington Munkuli, Brighton Ncube and Reward Muza.

Kudzaishe Dzingwe, Marlvin Sibanda, Shadreck Nyawo and Thabo Lunga made it from the Bantu Rovers camp.
