BULAWAYO lawyer Russel Dzete has appeared in court for the third time in three months facing another charge of fraud involving $22 000.

Dzete (33) of Marondedze, Mukuku and Partners allegedly connived with one Collet Ncube (48) of Sizinda suburb and prejudiced Ronald Ngorima of a total of $22 600 in a fradulent stand deal.

Allegations against the two are that they allegedly sold Ngorima a stand belonging to one Nelson Ngwenya of Matsheumhlope suburb in Bulawayo, without his authority.

Bulawayo magistrate Miss Charity Maphosa remanded the pair out of custody to December 16.

Prosecuting, Mr Alfred Makonese said in February this year, the pair identified a vacant property belonging to Ngwenya and engaged an estate agent to find a potential buyer.

“An advert was placed and attracted Ngorima. Ngorima contacted Ncube. On a later date Ncube took Ngorima to Dzete’s workplace. The two accused persons, acting in common purpose produced a national identity card in the name of Ngwenya that had Ncube’s face inserted on it. Through the misrepresentation, Ngorima was prejudiced of $22 600,” said Mr Makonese.

The prosecutor said the offence came to light after Dzete was arrested for similar offences.

The lawyer is also on bail facing a fraud charge after he allegedly ganged up with three accomplices and forged title deeds which they used to sell a house in Suburbs residential area for $50 500 without the owners’ knowledge.

He is also facing another charge of allegedly defrauding a couple of $25 710 in a similar manner. The couple found out that they had been defrauded after investing $9 000 in developing a stand acquired fraudulently.
