STRIPTEASE enthusiasts had a rare treat on Saturday night as Harare group Freaky Barbie Dolls left revellers at Metropolis Night Club in Bulawayo in awe with their erotic dancing antics.

The group which was formed in 2013 is led by 22-year-old Shalom Maidei (stage name Magnito the queen of pole), who performs with Reela Maiden (stage name Billion Gangster Chick), Grace Thwala (stage name Nicki Minaj) and Charlize Ndaba (stage name Diamond Girl the Twerking Machine). The members are aged between 20-23 years.

Performing in front of a full house, the exotic dancers removed their under garments in the grand finale of the show leaving revellers begging for more with some being overheard pleading with resident DJ Sweeto to bring the strippers back for another show. They threw money onto the stage, which the lap dancers gladly picked up.

For people who have attended shows at Harare strip club Private Lounge, what the girls did at Metropolis Night Club was just a tip of the iceberg.

The strippers really know how to sexually tease revellers as they started off with short dances where they revealed their thongs and bras and people had to wait for a long time for the next dance.

This went on for two hours before the strip show got into full gear with the quartet being in the nude.

Exotic entertainment in Bulawayo is provided by Girlz La Musica, Dynamite Chicks, Ziyawa Dance Troupe and Digital Chicks among others who focus mostly on Rhumba dances.

Self proclaimed queen of dance Bev and the Sexy Angels gained popularity when she was at the top of her game three years. She had an arsenal of dance moves, such as taking men and performing sexual acts on the dance floor.

Her most famous dance was the bottle dance where she inserts a beer bottle into her privates and does sexual motions on it.

Now this group of female dancers have come up with stripping down to their birthday suits as part of their act and they will be popular for a long time.

Speaking after the show Magnito said they enjoyed the reception the Bulawayo crowd gave them and would gladly come back to the city and stage another show.

“The show went well and we enjoyed every minute we were on stage. The warmth from people in Bulawayo was amazing and we’re grateful for the immense support that we received. The Freaky Barbie Dolls are ready to come back to the City of Kings anytime,” said Magnito.

Questioned if they were nervous before they performed, Magnito said it was part of her job and they were used to performing in front of people.

Entertainment manager of the joint DJ Sweeto said they were pleased with the turnout and plans were in place to bring the strippers for another show.

“It was a great show and the fans enjoyed it and they want them back. Their form of entertainment is something different altogether and it got people’s attention. We’re thinking of bringing them back judging by the turnout,” said DJ Sweeto.

He said this was part of their winter programme at the club to spice up the entertainment with different types of groups.

“Normally we’ve our local dance groups that entertain the patrons, but these for some are no more appealing. That’s why we roped in the Freaky Barbie Dolls to spice up the winter entertainment in the club,” said DJ Sweeto.
