The villain everybody just loves to hate is leaving Generations: The Legacy.

Vuyo Dabula who played the role of Gadafi has left the soapie to pursue other interests, joining Denise Zimba and Asanda Foji who were axed last month.

While Generations has stated Dabula left on his own accord, their publicity manager, Gaaratwe Mokheti alluded to several actors’ contracts not getting renewed in an exclusive with TImesLive recently.

“We’re in contract negotiations. At this time of the year contracts are reviewed and depending on the story, certain actors stay and others go.”

Mokheti added the drama was focused on keeping viewers gripped by changing its storyline.

“Our biggest loyalty is in advancing the story and keeping our viewers entertained and that’s the reason we keep introducing new and fresh stories,” she said.

Zimba who played Mary on the soapie was axed recently and there were rumours that other prominent characters would be chopped as they were not making a significant contribution.

Dabula said he enjoyed the time he spent at the soapie and wants to use the exposure he got from the show to do other things. – DailySun/TimesLive.
